Description by the author

This13-kilometre-long hike around the Brunschkopf mountain in Seefeld is perfect for all those keen to enjoy the wonderful landscape in this part of Tirol but at a more gentle pace. En route you will find several huts and other places serving food as well as three mountain lakes. Two of them, the Wildmoossee and the Lottensee, are aperiodic lakes. This means they only appear every now and then, when the underground water level in the caves below ground is high enough. This trail leads past both lakes. All in all the profile is relatively flat. There are several points along the route where you can leave the trail and head up to the summit of the Brunschkopf mountain, where a fine viewing platform awaits.
This circular hike begins at the Seekirchl, a small church near the Olympic sports centre. The route first leads a short distance along the main road into town, then turns left into the road "Am Kirchwald". Follow the signs through the Kirchwaldsiedlung until the path leads into the forest. Head up through the Schöllingwald forest and, after less than a kilometre, you will reach the start of the circular trail around the mountain. Keep to the right and hike anticlockwise towards the Wildmoosalm, a hut which soon appears on the left-hand side at the edge of the forest. This is the first place where you can stop for a drink and a snack. Continue on the trail that next leads to the Wildmoossee lake and then to the Lottensee lake (both of which appear and disappear throughout the year, depending on the groundwater level). There are again two places to stop: the Gasthaus Ferienkolonie Wildmoos and the Lottenseehütte. Keeping to the left, the trail then leads to the south side of the Brunschkopf mountain, but before that you pass the Möserer See lake, which is one of the warmest lakes in Tirol for swimming in summer. Continue to the Geiernest, where several trails meet. Turn right, back to the point where you started, and then head through the Kirchwaldsiedlung settlement into Seefeld.
