Description by the author

The walk starts from the city center of the former mining town of Kerkrade through the Cranenweyer nature reserve. At the Hopel, the signs of the Via Belgica are followed with a slightly different route through the Rimburgerbos. Then through the Wormdal back to Eygelshoven and via the Hopel again along the reservoir of the Cranenweyer and back to the starting point.
