Soak up the charming village of Adare on an easy amble, passing picture postcard thatched cottages, medieval buildings and majestic River Maigue.
There’s a reason Adare is one of the most visited villages in Ireland. You can explore thatched cottages, quaint old pubs and a smattering of historic sites by foot, as well as the stately Adare Manor, a five-star neo-Gothic hotel with manicured gardens and beautiful rooms for afternoon tea.
If you fancy a longer walk, make your way up Station Road until you meet the entrance to the Adare Riverbank Walk. Here, a narrow pathway runs alongside the River Maigue, past fields of cows and bat boxes until you reach the arches of the old stone bridge, with Desmond Castle just behind.
