Cootehill is a fine example of an 18th century Ulster linen market town.
Cootehill takes its name from the Coote family who acquired a large estate here after the Cromwellian wars. The heritage trail begins at the courthouse on Market Street and takes you along the town with maps, information panels and plaques outlining further information on key sites.
