Not a typical route you would take, and this is because it takes you across the busy town. But not much can be done to make it better when your starting point is in the city.
However, at some point, where town converts into rural area, it becomes much nicer. The De Havilland museum will definitely satisfy aviation enthusiasts and even more when you get to the next stop the Elstree Airfield for tasty lunch. It is busy general aviation airfield.
Next, you may stop at Bentley Priory Museum if you are interested in RAF and military ground activities. On some days they have air displays and fly-bys of historical aircrafts.
If you still have time, you can re-route and visite nearby RAF Museum London.
On the way back, there is an ACE Cafe, place to meet other bikers stopping by for a meal and coffee.
So, as you see, town discovery route, rather than scenic one but still to be enjoyed.
