The most beautiful road, the best single malt and the best restaurant
The Isle of Skye is known as the largest of the Inner Hebrides. The landscape is fascinating and varied: from pastoral Sleat to the inhospitable heights of the Cuillin Hills, from the solitude of Duirinish to the wild cliffs of Trotternish. Skye also has a long history. The first inhabitants of the Neolithic were succeeded by the Vikings, then the Lords of the Isles. In the nineteenth century, there was a mass exodus to America and Canada (clearances).
