Description by the author

Holy Island, or Lindisfarne, is an island off the coast of Northumberland. It is connected to the mainland via a dam, which, however, flooded at high tide. The island is part of the Northumberland Coast AONB. On the island you will find Lindisfarne Priory, known for the brutal robberies of the Vikings.
