Walking through Carlisle: Roman settlement along the Hadrian's Wall

Carlisle is a northern English city located just 17 kilometers from the Scottish border. The city has a long history that goes back to the time of the Romans when Carlisle was a settlement along the Hadrian's Wall from where they could defend that wall.
