Description by the author

Liverpool is probably best known for The Beatles. In the 1960s, the city was the capital of the Merseybeat, a musical style in rock music. However, the city also has a lot to offer in architectural terms. One of the highlights of the walk is Pier Head. The old port is today one of the trendiest neighborhoods in the city, with various museums, bars and impressive buildings. It is part of the UNESCO Liverpool Maritime Mercantile City, which also includes the William Brown Street cultural district. This walk starts and ends at Liverpool Lyme Street train station.
