Description by the author

Durham is a city in the north of England, located about 25 kilometers south of Newcastle upon Tyne. The city has been a place of pilgrimage since the Middle Ages and there are still a lot of buildings from that period. The Durham Castle, the Durham Cathedral and and the idyllic streets around the market place are just some of these gems that you will come to see. In addition, Durham is also a university city and therefore the city is very popular with young people. You will therefore not soon forget a walking tour through this beautiful city and luckily this route is perfect for that.
