Description by the author

Coffee run. Sugnall Walled Garden, full of apple trees and flowers, has a cafe, with sheltered outdoor seating, as well as indoor and outdoor seating - perfect for all weathers. Canal towpath, then, once across the A34, country lanes all the way out (about fifty metres on an A road. Potentially more traffic on the way back as the route passes an area of light industry around Cold Meece. This was once a huge munitions complex, now housing a prison, industrial units, and a military firing range. Not picturesque but definitely historic. Care should be taken crossing the A34 on the way out and on the return to Stone. www.sevendaycyclist.com
