The 320-kilometre Coast & Castles Cycle Route connects the Forth and Tyne estuaries and passes through an area with much of Britain's best-preserved buildings and castles. Starting in Newcastle, it passes the Hadrain's Wall which has been declared a world heritage site, before deflecting along the undamaged coastline and the pretty towns of the Tweed Valley, before reaching Scotland's capital of Edinburgh.
The Coast and Castles is part of the Nordsea Cycleroute.
