Description by the author

A short hilly ride for a quick spin with a bit of a challenge when time is short. Head for the hills from the start and return along the Trent Valley. The Green Man, Milwich is a good pub, but check opening times. The Dog and Doublet in Sandon is a decent pub and not as posh as it appears at first sight. In Stone, the Borehole is a little way over the level crossing, on the old Bent's Brewery site. To be honest, this is only a short route, so looking at the scenery should provide enough breaks.
