Description by the author

From Stone Railway Station, lots of country lanes out into Shropshire, via Norton-in-Hales. Return via Market Drayton and Eccleshall. Stone to Yarnfield and Eccleshall to Cold Meece can carry more traffic than a country lanes should. This is because of the numerous industrial units on the old Ordnance Factory site. Good pubs in Norton-in-Hales, Moreton Say and at the Joules Brewery in Market Drayton, also Copmere End and Eccleshall. In Stone, try the Borehole, a little way over the level crossing from Stone station approach. Cafes in Market Drayton, Eccleshall and Stone. Lots of gentle countryside with undulating roads and some nice long views. Main point of interest is the burial place of Robert Clive, in Moreton Say Church.
