Description by the author

Penrith Railway station and over to Great Salkeld, to head north on the west side of the Eden valley via Lazonby before looping south to Appleby via Armathwaite, Kirkoswald, Little Salkeld, Langwathby and Skirwith. Visit Appleby before heading over the hills to King's Meaburn, Great Strickland and returning to Penrith. Lumpy, but always lovely. Lots of good pubs and cafes along the way, but the Strickland Arms at Great Strickland is highly recommended and very cyclist friendly.
