From the westernmost point to the highest peak
Mountains, scary or not, countless lakes (lochs) and an endless coast: these are in a few words the main ingredients of the Western Highlands. A wild landscape, sometimes bare, but always beautiful. The length of the coast is explained by the many inlets, sometimes very deep, which can sink very far inland. The mountains seem to come straight out of the sea. The interior is carved with wide valleys carved by glaciers and occupied over time by lakes. They can be compared to the Norwegian fjords. In the Western Highlands alone, there are nine sea lochs.
