On old smuggling routes

Anyone who enters the beautiful Kammerwald should be aware that they are walking on old smuggling paths that still give an adventurous impression. During the feudal period (1794), these forests were owned by the Count of Vianden.

The huge oak trees give the Kammerwald a fairytale view. Especially the beautiful royal oak with its 350 years, one of the oldest trees in the West Eifel, radiates a majestic value with its circumference of 5 meters and a height of 32 meters. During this hike we enter the beautiful open valley of the "Gay Stream". At 'Scheierhaff' you have a beautiful view of the castle 'Vianden', which is located on the opposite side of the 'Our'.
