Description by the author

It is a mountain range that impresses and a mountain range that captivates. The Lusatian Mountains are gripping because they have a human dimension. Its highest peaks are not even 800 meters above sea level, and yet it is a mountain range with everything that goes with it. It is the perfect combination of the surrounding landscape forms - it has inherited the sandstone formations and rock towns from Bohemian Switzerland, the volcanic character and the conical mountains rising from the wooded hills from the Bohemian Central Mountains, the long ridges from the Jizera Mountains... It combines all this into a unique whole, where the soul comes alive and the eyes glide over the undulating relief with pleasure. If it wasn't called the Lusatian Mountains, it would be called the Picturesque Mountains.
