Top Gear: 'the route from Davos to Stelvio is the best helmsman's road in the world' (season 10, episode 1).
Breathtaking tour over 8 mountain passes in the border area of Italy and Switzerland. Ideally suited for experienced motorcyclists and drivers. Trained and experienced cyclists are recommended to ride the route in three days. Adequate lighting is mandatory in all (narrow) tunnels.
The Alpine passes in Switzerland described in detail in Places of interest are successively: Umbrail, Ofen, Flüela, Albula, Bernina and Livigno. Then you drive in Italy the Foscagno pass and finally the ultimate challenge: Passo dello Stelvio.
After 49 km, in Zernez you can turn left towards St. Moritz. You will miss the beautiful Flüela and Albula pass, but the route is 76 km shorter.
