Description by the author

The Europe Trail is the key stage in the famed Monte Rosa Tour and links the Grächen family resort with Zermatt. Following the route’s initial ascent on the Geissweg from Gasenried to the ridge, hikers find the most impressive viewpoint on the Europe Trail. The Weisshorn and Matterhorn are visible the rest of the way. Follow the path to the Europe Hut, crossing rockslides, alpine meadows and secured sections across cliffsides. The second stage has been carefully designed and leads below the Dom through an avalanche screen, later heading through a tunnel in the Wildikin. Pass through meadows filled with blooming Edelweiss before crossing the bridge over the village stream. Cross the Täschgufer and climb to Täschalpe. Follow the sturdy trail to reach Sunegga above Zermatt.
