The idea behind the "Senses Trail" is that nature should be felt, touched, tasted, smelled, heard, and seen, and learning about it should be fun. The 2.7-kilometre trail begins at the "Maisons de la fôret", where there are explanatory signs about healing herbs, bee-keeping, and the local wildlife. Birdsong accompanies hikers starting out along the Saxon Bisse, where information signs inspire children to try out all sorts of activities: touching the forest ground, smelling Swiss pine bark, guessing which birds you can hear. Children and adults alike will enjoy trying to identify the various flowers and trees by smell or by touch. Signs are also in braille so that blind hikers may benefit from this trail.
