The UNESCO heritage high trail is an alpine route (marked white-blue-white) suited only for experienced hikers with no vertigo. It offers breathtaking views to the Great Aletsch glacier and the UNESCO World Heritage Site Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch. From the south are spectacular views of the Rhône and Binn Valleys and the Valais Alps! The hike from the arrival station of the Bettmeralp cable car to the Eggishorn cable car takes 3 hours. It takes 30 minutes to hike from the cable car station to the Bettmerhorn. From there it is 1.5km the length of the ridge, after which hikers encounter a steep descent (fixed ropes for aid) to Elselücke. A good hiking trail then leads to the Eggishorn cable car station, circa 45 min.
