Serge Berten Pad

Serge Berten, born in Menen in 1952, left for Guatemala in 1975 on behalf of the Missionaries of Scheut. During the civil war, he defended the poor population exploited in the struggle against the rich landowners. In 1982, he was kidnapped by the army and murdered.
