Description by the author

The Charleroi region is nicknamed the Black Country. The old coal mines and abandoned steel factories give a grim image of this once industrial city. But this bike ride will make you discover another facet. Pedal on the pedestrian banks of the Sambre, zigzag along an old railway track that served the coal mines and you will find yourself in a grandiose wood. Finally, rehabilitate this region that deserves it by walking along one of the largest strawberry plantations in Wallonia. And everywhere along the way, honey bees seem to be finding prime habitat.
