Description by the author

Start with the church of Lathuy (V) on your left and exit the village along the high wall of the cemetery. Don't worry about side roads and cycle between meadows towards Dongelberg. You pedal on a hollow road and after a slight left turn, you arrive at a crossroads, with a Jodoigne-Souveraine nameplate on the left. The crossroads crosses Chemin des Roches to the first real intersection. Turn right onto Rue des Carrières. Ignore the rue du Pont Laurent on the left, cross the Orbais stream and after a few turns pass an old quarry to a priority road. Turn left and then right, onto Rue d'Incourt. You leave Dongelberg by bike and go up to the Namur-Eghezée road. Cross the Robert Altman crossroads and continue by bike to the centre of Incourt. Turn right onto Place des Fêtes and at the end straight into the narrow road. The narrow street rises slightly and turns left, towards the church. Right. Ignore the street to the left of the church and choose a road with 2 concrete strips at the following fork: for agricultural vehicles, cyclists, walkers and horse riders. Beautiful farmhouses and views At the crossroads after Beaumont farm 1 turn left, on a paved strip. From the first houses, the cobblestones turn into asphalt and the road becomes hollow. Ignore all secondary roads and follow Rue d'Hoegaerde to the end. Now follow the wide concrete road to the right, climbing gently, but with a beautiful 360° panorama. Continue cycling straight until you can turn left after the Longueville agglomeration sign: rue de Sart-Risbart, hilly further, with beautiful views. On the right you see the path of Hurlain Pré with a beautiful chapel. At a fork with cobblestones, turn right and immediately after turn left, direction Sart-Risbart. The road becomes hollow again and you pedal on concrete again. After a 'Horse Crossing' sign, you lean over a paved strip around a white farm with riding school. Skip all the back roads and pedal further into the hilly landscape. You will pass a castle estate, with the castle hidden in the greenery. Leave Rue de Fontenelle on the right and go up to the next fork. Straight ahead, he goes to church. Turn right here and start again at the T-junction with the mirror. Leave the road to Chaumont-Gistoux and pedal straight into the open landscape. The slightly hilly road gets a bit hollow and takes you to five points. Take rue Florémond on the right. You are now in Chaumont and cycling on a wide concrete road. At a fork with a diagonal descending road on the left, keep right. On the left between the trees a beautiful view of the valley and a whitewater tower (art deco style and therefore a particular building in Chaumont-Gistoux). Don't worry about back roads anymore and keep following Florémond Street until you get to a six-jump after a "dive". Choose Avenue du Ronvau on the left and pedal between the Sports Centre and some ponds. From castle to castle After a few speed bumps you arrive at a five-lane (straight ahead prohibited to all traffic). Turn left and pass the Château Jamar 2 estate, named after the current owners. The castle belonged in 1930 to the Dutch writer Eddy Du Perron, friend of André Malraux. On a mini square with a chapel on the right in the rue Colleau. Just before the police station, turn right onto Rue Collebrine, direction Bonlez, and exit the village on Ri du Pré Delcourt. Ignore all secondary roads and continue cycling towards Bonlez. You cross the Train by a bridge. On the other side turn right, in the path of Gistoux, straight towards the church of Bonlez[3]. Past the church, take the first street on the left, the path Bernard Croix, a hollow road uphill. Between some beautiful buildings, you come to another road, which you follow on the left. Further on the concrete to the first intersection, with a spacious white villa on the other side at every corner. Right. In a final villa, ignore a street on the left and pedal straight into the fields, descending on a narrow concrete road. At the junction on the right the path of Sources straight on the cobblestones. After the riding school Les Prés de Bayarmont the road begins to descend, again on asphalt. After a turn, you will be pleasantly surprised by a beautiful panorama. You plunge into a hollow road with a ditch on the left, lined with poles. After the hollow road, you will return to civilization and at the first crossroads turn left into Rue du Péry. Again on a paved road, which becomes hollow. Skip a street on the left and continue pedaling along a narrow paved road with plenty of speed bumps in the middle of the fields. At the end of the road, turn right and in front of a white house, turn left with the road and cross the train again. Ignore the road on the left behind the bridge and continue straight on Avenue Comte Jean Dumonceau, after the Château de Piétrebais-en-Grez 4. Ignore a street on the left, turn right and continue cycling until you can take a road to Biez on the left, with a beautiful view of the church on the right. Follow Avenue Félix Lacourt to the first quadrangle. Here, turn left and continue on the cobblestones by Rue Bettinval. Ignore a street on the left and turn left at the five-lane stop, always via rue de Bettinval. Cross the Piétrebais and turn right onto Rue Cocrou (local traffic) on the busy Chaussée de Jodoigne. Right. After 200 m, turn right again, away from the crowds. Along Beauvechain to Mélin You have been cycling for a long time at the edge of the forest. You pass an impressive farmhouse, ignore two roads on the right and return to civilization. On the left is a Notre-Dame. of the Grotto of Lourdes. Don't worry about secondary roads and continue to follow Marcel Louis Street straight as much as possible. After 1 km on the left is a triangular square with the rising street of the Girls' Schools. From there, follow rue Fond du Village straight ahead and after 400 m take rue de l'Eglise on the left. Note! The street nameplate cannot be seen from the direction you came from. It is increasing sharply. At the end of Rue de l'Eglise, you will arrive at the busy Chaussée de Namur (N91). Cross it and on the other side follow the rue de Beauvechain between the fields to the busy chaussée de Wavre (N240). You are forced to follow this busy road 200 m to the right on a narrow "dotted cycle path". Then turn left, direction Beauvechain, then take the first road clearly to the right, a narrow and rugged gravel road. Ignore a road on the left to a farm and at the end, at the fork, choose left. On asphalt passed the beautiful chapel Saint-Antoine (16th century) and passed a large farm to the first quadrilateral. Turn right onto Rue de Hodebierge. At the end turn left until you can turn right into the first street (= rue de la Maison du Bois, without name sign). At the end diagonally right, so almost straight, in the rue des Beaux Prés, passed a beautiful chapel (1919) and further towards Mélin. After a few turns, you pedal through the picturesque center of Mélin, passing the church and the cemetery wall which are a little higher. Then take a sharp turn on the first street on the right and walk down the imposing farm Hesrée 5 to the Chaussée de Wavre. Cross it and follow Dongelberg Street without worrying about secondary roads to a T-junction. Turn right until you can turn left onto Brocrui Street. The church is now nearby.
