Main route: 176 km | Variant: 4 km
The route starts in Lokeren, in the middle of the Waasland, and ends in the Dutch town of Hulst, capital of the Reynaertland. It is Reynaert de Vos who takes you in tow on this route; the many Reynaert statues and typical Reynaert benches are the stepping stones of the story.
The route is signposted completely yellow-red.
Half of the route is unpaved, and no less than 65% runs on traffic-free paths. Quite an achievement in densely built-up Flanders!
There are currently temporary route changes in Lokeren (sports complex) and in Hamme (Grootbroek).
Add to that the excellent accessibility by public transport and you have a beautiful route that will delight every hiker.
