What beauty the Ourthe is when it winds through the great plain in the vicinity of Melreux. Let's take advantage of this 'Green Stop' to travel by train to our starting point!
From Melreux station, we pedal to the great landscapes of Calestienne, the region between Condroz and the Ardennes.
In the west there are meadows with a soft relief, while in the east rise hills that are adorned with forests. We will see this variety of landscapes even more during our trip.
Shortly after Monville, we follow the Ourthe which winds through the meadows. Because the Fronville valley is protected by the steep rocks of the Famenne, it is slightly warmer. Shortly after cycling around the campsite, the route climbs slightly to Petit-Han, where a long access road to Biron awaits us.
The ascending road takes us to Oppagne, the gateway to the megalithic fields of Wéris, one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia". A long descent takes us further to Hotton and its beautiful and clear valley of the Ourthe.
