Along the way, you will encounter bunkers, former defense works, and memorial sites that testify to the impact of the war on the region. You will pass, among other things, the Flakberg Blekkaart, where a WWII bunker is still visible, the military hospital, where Belgian soldiers were cared for in both WWI and WWII, and the war graves at the Saint-Rikiers Church, where Belgian, British, and American soldiers rest.
