Description by the author

The Peter Benoit cycle route was signposted again and entered on 21 March 2023.
The route takes you past some beautiful places from the first years of Peter Benoit's life.
Cycle along the Leie towards Ooigem, Hulste and Bavikhove to end in the center of Harelbeke, the birthplace of the composer Peter Benoit (1834-1901).

The cycle route starts and ends at the statue of Peter Benoit in the city park (Stationsstraat Harelbeke).

Because the route drawn by the tourist office of Harelbeke contains 10 errors, I took the initiative to make a correct version available (after all, I don't want cyclists to follow their GPS and, for example, enter the Leie!).

Contrary to what the brochure states (27 km), the route is only 25.4 km long and I recorded this route with my GPS device where I followed the signs along the way.
