'Vilvoorde City, more specifically in the Far-West.' Your tour starts at the working-class neighborhood that singer Kris De Bruyne sang about and follows the Zenne to the Dorent. In this strip of nature reserve on the border with Zemst, you can spot the rare crested newt in the cut-off Zennemeanders, as well as a host of water birds such as the coot, moorhen and mallard. Via the Schoewever, a green buffer between Vilvoorde and Houtem, you'll be able to return to the Far-West.

NOTE: This is a hike on a virtual hiking network. The nodes are not signposted on the property. Follow the 6-sided red and white signs with the name of the hike.
