Discover all benefitsThe Landscape Cubes Route Herne:
This route takes you along the landscape cubes in the Green Quadrant of Herne. Pieter (Herne), Icarus (Kokejane), Mayken (Herfelingen), (D)ulle Griet (Sint-Pieters-Kapelle), and K5 (artwork no. 5) in the Dominican convent of Herne are well worth stopping at for a break.
Above all, the route leads you through the beautiful hilly green Pajot Bruegel landscape with its delightful vistas, its peaceful valleys with idyllic streams, its typical square farms, church buildings, watermills, and cultural historical heritage such as the Carthusian and Dominican convents.
There are three cycling loops that cross the beautiful, green Herne, providing no less than 70 km of cycling pleasure.
The Blue loop has a distance of 26 km and can start in Herne or at the starting point in Sint-Pieters-Kapelle at the playground De Wippewei. In Sint-Pieters-Kapelle, you will find the landscape cube De Dulle Griet.
The route goes via panoramic beautiful views, field roads, square farms and includes the necessary elevation meters. At the Herne station, you can enjoy a well-deserved stop.
The Red loop has a distance of 30 km and departs from the sports hall in Herne. Through the beautiful hilly Pajot landscape, you will find 2 landscape cubes, the monastery, and the castle domain Ter Rijst along the route.
At the castle domain Ter Rijst, you can connect with the Green loop.
The Green loop has a distance of 18 km and goes via Herfelingen, with Mayken as the landscape cube, over Heikruis back towards the start.
