This easy bike and handbike route provides riders with a true wilderness experience in the Karwendel Alpine Park, some of Tirol’s most pristine and beautiful surroundings. It finishes at the Gramai Alm hut at the end of the Falzturntal Valley, just 7 kilometres from Lake Achensee. Riders climb around 300 vertical metres between start and finish on the toll road up to the Gramai Alm hut at 1,270 metres above sea level.
Route description for cyclists and handbike riders: The ride starts at the car park in front of the Fürstenhaus. Turn right and ride towards the Karwendeltäler Valleys. After 500 metres of gentle uphill riding you will reach a fork in the road towards the Karwendeltäler Valleys. After 1.2 kilometres you will reach the toll booth. From here the toll road leads gently uphill to the Gramai Alm hut, with a few steep sections of up to 14% (only 50 metres in length). All in all this is a mountain ride which requires good fitness levels but is well worth the effort thanks to the beautiful surroundings.
