Description by the author

Sprawling flower meadows, the majestic Karwendel Mountain Range in the background and a charming ensemble of alpine cabins. Welcome to the Walderalm! All seasons of the year are pretty up here, but early summer is best according to the locals. As soon as summer arrives in the higher regions, the vast alpine pastures burst into bloom with buttercups, cuckoo cloves, cotton grass, red clover, forget-me-nots and daisies. The grazing area extends over the flat mountain ridge of Walderkamm to Vomperbach.
From the St. Michael district in Gnadenwald (bus stop: "Gasthof Gunggl"), a six-kilometre-long winding trail leads up to the Hinterhornalm hut. From there, take the wide forest trail, which is more or less flat, across to the Walderalm and ultimately back to the starting point in Gnadenwald.
