The Falbesoner Ochsenalm hut nestles in a cirque in the Upper Stubai Valley at 1,830 metres above sea level, around halfway between the village of Falbeson and the Neue Regensburger Hütte (2,286 metres). Dairy maid, Maridl Schmid, who took the farm over from her mother and has managed it together with her uncle since 2005, serves excellent alpine farm cuisine such as bacon, eggs and homemade “Graukäse” cheese. Don't forget to leave a little space for one of the sweet treats on the menu such as "Kaiserschmarren".
It takes around 1.5 hours to walk to the Falbesoner Ochsenalm. The trail begins in the Upper Stubai Valley just before the district of Falbeson. We recommend you leave your car at the Waldcafé car park. A forest trail and path lead up to the alpine farm.
