Nice walk that starts at the station of Tielen. The walk first goes in a northeasterly direction where we cross the Aa at the beautiful watermill of Tielen. Later we will follow the Aa twice. We make a detour in the forest 'Polderheide' of Gierle to pass by the IJssloeberke, it is a brisk walk, so some extra calories can not hurt. After the ice cream we arrive further at the Aa which we follow for about 1.3 km. We pass at the mouth of the Grote Kaliebeek.
We leave the Aa to pass a viewing farm a little further on, for those who did not have enough with an ice cream, here are vending machines where you can buy rice porridge, flat cheese and the like. Fresh milk can also be tapped.
After this stopover, the walk continues for about 750 meters along the relatively busy Lichtaartsesteenweg, the forests on both sides of the road are not accessible to the public. After this short-lived hustle and bustle, we arrive in the quiet nature reserve Den Haert where we quickly find ourselves flanked by the Aa. After 750 meters we leave the Aa to go to the forest mountains of Herentals. The walk continues along the tourist tower 'De Paepekelders' of which you can see about a hundred towers in clear weather.
After all this goodness and beauty, it is time to go through the Bloso sports complex to the station of Herentals.
