A well-marked and varied circular route with some scenic highlights and great views. At the beginning or end of the walk, it is worth visiting the Abbey of Stavelot, which houses the Museum of the Principality of Stavelot-Malmedy, the Museum of the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit and the Apollinaire Museum under one roof. In the courtyard of the complex, the archaeological remains of the abbey church from the 11th century were brought to light and presented in a way that was also understandable for laymen. From the abbey, the trout trail leads to the Amblève, which has its origin in the high moor "High Fens" and - like the Salm and the Ourthe - shapes the face of the Walloon region as a tributary of the Warche. Above the small village of Warche with its old farms lies the imposing Warche rock, which rises almost vertically above the river and from which a fabulous view opens up far over the Amblève valley. If you hike on the weekend and make a short detour to the neighbouring village of Bellevaux in Warche (under the motorway on the right and about 1 km on asphalt), you can enjoy delicious local beers in the local small brewery (Sat and Sun 11 am-6 pm, www.brasseriedebellevaux.be).
