De wandeling door de Samaria kloof op Kreta is een geweldige , intense ervaring! Het is de smalste kloof ter wereld. Het begin van de kloof bevindt zich op 1240 meter hoogte, in de buurt van het dorp Omalos .Eerst moet men 1200 meter afdalen om te beginnen aan de prachtige wandeling. Op sommige plaatsen is de kloof maar 4 meter breed met rotswanden van 500 meter hoog. Als u door de Samariakloof gaat wandelen denk dan vooral aan goede stevige schoenen en een pet of hoed tegen de zon. Het smalste punt noemt men de IJzeren Poort. Het einde van de kloof komt uit bij de Libische Zee.
