Au creux de la vallée de la Suippe, l'oratoire de la fontaine Sainte-Geneviève était connu pour ses vertus guérisseuses. Dernier village avant le département de la Marne, Orainville posséde un attractif musée du machinisme agricole, baptisé "La ferme 1900". Après l'écluse de Pignicourt, au bout d'un village tout en longueur, on longe le canal latéral de l'Aisne, qui s'incurve doucement avant de conduire à Variscourt.
