Landscape
The area northeast of the Schijn valley forms the edge of two different areas. It is a gently sloping area that forms the transition between the lower Scheldt and the higher Kempen. It is also the border between the city on the one hand and the open landscape around the city on the other. This boundary stands out because the area within the city is largely filled with all kinds of recreation (sports, allotments,...) while outside Antwerp the traditional agricultural character was more preserved. This transition is easy to experience during the walk.
