This restful hiking route takes you along imaginative names such as the Wolfsberg and the Gipsies Wood where wizards lived underground in the forest. They would help the villager in the tasks of maintaining the skin. These many forests are not here by chance. There's the surface for something in between. And it consists mainly of Brussels sands that are very permeable to water. Only with a decent layer of soil on top of these sands are fertile and suitable for arable farming. But on the steep slopes where the silt layer has disappeared, you are on the arid sands of Brussels. And therefore quite suitable as a forest, and not so suitable for arable agriculture. During this walk you will see a wonderful variety of open arable landscapes, interspersed with forests, but also allivual terrain of the Dijle.
There is only one downside on this walk: very little restoration. Au Val Fleur is fortunately an exception to this rule.
