Parkstad Brunssummerheide MTB route

Starting location:
Visitor centre Brunssummerheide, Schaapskooiweg 99 in Heerlen

The Parkstad route consists of five loops that are interconnected, so that one can drive each route separately, or the five loops together. The junctions are indicated with signs with the numbers of the routes. This loop around the Brunssummerheide contains many single trails and short but also longer climbs.

The vast landscape of about 600 ha is very varied. Heath, forest, sand and water continuously change the view during your trip. The largest part goes through forest with an often sandy surface. In the summer the heath turns a beautiful purple. The height difference also offers the most beautiful views. In many places, the trails have been specially designed for mountain bikers to relieve the hiking trails.

The route is marked with wooden poles with the international MTB sign in yellow/black.
