ON21 Alta-Russenes

21st from Oekene to the North Cape: from Alta to Russenes.
From the Altafjord via a cross-sectional plateau to the Porsangerfjord. Along the way some longer and firm climbs, 109 kilometers and 1104 altimeters. An extremely beautiful ride with many views of the rugged landscape.

You drive away from Alta via the cycle path along the E6, in an easterly direction. You drive along the beautiful Altafjord and the airport further along the E6 to drive over the bridge over the Altaelva to Rafsboten. Here, away from the fjord, follow the E6 to Leirbotnvatn. The road climbs regularly, not steeply, but around you there are mountains up to 700m. So you need to gain some height on a regular basis. In Skäldi the road splits and you continue right on the E6 to Olderfjord on the Porsangerfjorden. There you take the E69 on the left towards Russenes and Nordkapp.

Russenes is a village in the municipality of Porsanger in Finnmark county, Norway. It is located on a small fjord Olderfjorden, which in turn is part of the very large fjord Porsanger. The village has no more than 50 inhabitants.
