Hiking stage 9: Drunen - Vlijmen | Zuiderwaterlinie

For centuries, Heusden was at the forefront. This fortified city arose around one of the oldest moated castles in Northwest Europe and was one of the first cities in Holland with a city wall. Thanks to excellent restorations, much of historic Heusden has been preserved to this day. During this stage you will explore this beautiful fortified city and pass the Elshoutse Zeedijk, De Bromsluis, the Wijkse Poort, the Veerpoort and Fort Hedikhuizen.
