Description by the author

No one in the region can bypass Durbuy, but no signposted route goes through both the Somme-Leuze region and Durbuy. .. So I made a route myself , based on Route 4 Somme-Leuze.

It is intended that the group's MTBs and non-MTBs will meet in Durbuy. Durbuy is 30 km from the start, so you have just under 2 hours for the appointment in Durbuy.

The route starts from the church of Somme-Leuze and first follows route 4 signposted with the green BTT sign.

First a tough climb and through the Bois Favereau , followed by a descent to the Ri des Soûrdants . Up again and past numerous chalets to the N63 , which we follow parallel to for a while, then follows a descent to the zoning. This boring part of the N929 takes about 2km...

From Baillonville there is a climb to Les Vennes . After the chalets we go down to Heure. A little further, in the parking lot, is the starting point for the 4 mountain bike trails. We cross the N929 again and now drive a few uphill and downhill sections.

After 19 km, after a climb of about 2 km in Somal, at the highest point of the route (286 m - GSM post) and against the N63-E46, we deviate from route 4 and instead of going straight, we turn right .

Continue under the motorway almost straight for 8km, mostly downhill towards the Somme at Le Marteau on the N983. Turn left/right and a little further right onto a Durbuy Adventure Course. We reach the Ourthe , which we follow to Durbuy. Two bridges mean we have to go down...

... but a beautiful terrace is tempting!

To leave Durbuy again, follow direction Palenge. You pass a first cemetery and after a right-angled turn you pass a second one. Before Palenge we turn left into the green to Septon . On the way back to the starting point we pass the Chateau Petite Somme .

Also, check out the sightseeing information while you're there. They tell you what you can see!
